A Right-Hand Staircase Bunk That Stores as It Climbs

Picture the bed against your wall with the stairs on the right: that is the layout this Sami step bunk is made for. Its drawer staircase stands at the right end (as you face the open side in our photos), so the top bunk is reached by four broad steps rather than a ladder, and each step is a drawer. Pick twin over twin for a compact stack, or twin over full, where an extension kit widens the bottom bed for an older sibling or a grown-up at storytime. The bottom bunk sits low, with 12" from the floor to the top of the slats. Finish choices are gray, espresso (listed as Dark Brown) and white.

Step bunk frame (both sizes), as listed in the Elements feed:

Extension kit (twin over full only):

For twin over full, the extension kit widens the lower bunk to fit a full mattress, so the bed needs about 57" of depth (the 42" frame plus the 15" kit). Twin over twin stays at 42" deep.

Construction

Each set pairs a right-hand headboard and footboard with a four-drawer staircase unit, a guard rail and rail across the upper bunk, and a full slat set. Origin is Malaysia per the Elements feed. Materials are not listed in the feed for the step bunk; our team can help if you need more detail.

Assembly

Assembly is required. Expect four cartons for twin over twin and five for twin over full, since the extension kit has its own box.
