An accent chest is a small decorative storage piece -- typically 30 to 42 inches tall with 3 to 5 drawers -- used in bedrooms, living rooms, and entryways to add storage without the scale of a full dresser. They work well as a nightstand alternative next to a bed, as a side piece in a living room, or as an accent piece in an entryway. The styling tends to be more decorative than functional dressers -- often with bun feet, carved drawer fronts, or metallic finishes.
