Finding the right mattress comes down to sleeping position, firmness preference, and whether you tend to sleep hot. Our mattress collection covers memory foam, hybrid, gel foam, innerspring, and pillow-top options at a range of price points -- all on the showroom floor so you can actually lie down and compare. Read our mattress buying guide before you shop, and try both memory foam and hybrid in person before deciding.
Sleep is the one thing you can't negotiate with.
A mattress is the most personal piece of furniture in your home — it affects your back, your energy, your mood, and anyone who shares it with you. Most people keep a mattress years longer than they should, then make the replacement decision under pressure, in a showroom, without enough information. We think that's backwards.
At Quality Home Furniture, we carry innerspring, memory foam, hybrid, and latex mattresses across a range of firmness levels, sizes, and price points — with something for every sleep style, whether you sleep on your back, side, or stomach, alone or with a partner whose preferences are completely different from yours.
We back every qualifying mattress with a 90-night comfort guarantee: if your body hasn't adjusted to the mattress within 90 nights, we'll work with you to find the right fit. The guarantee applies to mattresses $799 and above, purchased with a mattress protector and a protection plan at the time of sale. That's not a loophole — it's just how a comfort guarantee has to work to be real.
Choosing the right mattress — what actually matters
The mattress industry has perfected the art of making a straightforward decision feel complicated. Here's how to cut through it.
Know your mattress type before you walk in. There are four types worth knowing. Innerspring mattresses use a coil support system — they sleep cooler, have more bounce and edge support, and tend to be less expensive. They're a good fit if you run warm, switch positions often, or share the bed. Memory foam mattresses conform to your body and absorb motion transfer, which is ideal for light sleepers or couples on different schedules — but they trap heat unless they use a gel-infused or open-cell construction, so ask about that specifically. Hybrid mattresses layer pocketed coils under foam or latex comfort layers, giving you the support and airflow of innerspring with the pressure relief of foam — the most versatile option for most sleepers. Latex mattresses (natural or synthetic) are responsive, durable, and cooler than memory foam; they're also the best option for people who prefer an organic or lower-chemical sleep environment.
Firmness is about your sleep position, not just your preference. Side sleepers generally need a medium to medium-soft mattress — the softer surface lets the shoulder and hip sink enough to keep the spine neutral. Back sleepers need medium to medium-firm — enough give for the lumbar curve, enough resistance to keep the spine from bowing. Stomach sleepers need a firm mattress — a soft surface lets the hips sink and throws the spine into extension all night. Couples with different sleep positions often land on medium-firm as the functional compromise.
Don't skip the size conversation. A queen fits two adults with roughly 30 inches per person — enough for most couples, tight when pets are involved. A king gives each person 38 inches, which is closer to a twin's individual width. Split kings (two twin XLs on an adjustable base) solve the firmness-mismatch problem entirely and pair well with adjustable bases for individual position control.
An adjustable base changes the whole equation. Most people don't try an adjustable base until they're already in the store. Once they do, the conversation changes — zero-gravity positioning reduces pressure on the lower back and improves circulation, and the head elevation is genuinely useful for anyone who reads in bed, deals with reflux, or snores. Our mattresses are compatible with adjustable bases; ask us which models pair best.
Give yourself real time on the floor. The average person spends two or three minutes on a mattress in a showroom and wonders why their choice didn't feel the same at home. Lie down the way you actually sleep — on your side, on your back — for at least five minutes per mattress. We're not in a hurry. The right mattress takes the time it takes.
Frequently asked questions about mattresses
What's the difference between innerspring, memory foam, hybrid, and latex mattresses?
Innerspring mattresses use a coil system as the main support structure — they sleep cooler, have more bounce, and typically cost less. Memory foam conforms closely to your body shape and absorbs motion well, but can sleep warm without gel or open-cell construction. Hybrid mattresses combine pocketed coils with foam or latex comfort layers, giving you coil support and airflow with foam pressure relief — a versatile middle ground for most sleepers. Latex is responsive and naturally cooling; organic latex is a good option for people who prefer lower-chemical materials. The best way to understand the difference is to lie on one of each in the showroom.
How often should I replace my mattress?
A quality mattress typically lasts 7–10 years with proper care — meaning using a mattress protector, rotating it every 3–6 months during the first couple of years, and keeping it on a supportive base. If you're waking up sore, if the center has a visible sag, or if you sleep better in hotels than you do at home, those are signals the mattress has given you what it can. We're happy to do a quick assessment in-store if you're on the fence.
What firmness is best for back sleepers? What about side sleepers?
Back sleepers do best on a medium to medium-firm surface — enough give to support the lumbar curve, enough resistance to prevent the hips from sinking and straining the spine. Side sleepers generally need a medium to medium-soft surface so the shoulder and hip can sink enough to keep the spine neutral. Stomach sleepers need a firm surface to prevent the lower back from bowing. If you share the bed with someone whose sleep position is different from yours, a medium-firm hybrid is usually the most functional compromise — or a split king on an adjustable base, which lets each side be set independently.
What's included when I buy a mattress — does it come with a box spring or foundation?
It depends on the mattress. Some mattresses require a box spring, some work on a platform base, and some are designed specifically for adjustable bases. We'll tell you exactly what your chosen mattress needs before you check out — no surprise add-ons at delivery. If you need a foundation or frame, we carry them and can include them in your purchase.
Do your mattresses work with adjustable bases?
Most of the mattresses we carry are compatible with adjustable bases, particularly our memory foam, hybrid, and latex models — innerspring models vary by construction, and we'll tell you upfront which are and aren't compatible. Adjustable bases let you elevate the head or foot of the bed independently, which is useful for lower back relief, reflux, snoring, or simply reading without stacking pillows. You can browse our adjustable bases and test them in the showroom.
How does delivery and setup work?
We deliver through our own vetted professional crew — not a third-party gig service. They bring the mattress into your bedroom, set it on the base or frame you've chosen, and remove your old mattress if you need us to (ask about haul-away at time of purchase). In-stock mattresses typically deliver within 3–7 days. We'll confirm your window in advance — no four-hour open-ended delivery blocks.
What is the 90-night comfort guarantee and how does it work?
Our 90-night comfort guarantee gives your body time to adjust to a new mattress — and if it's not the right fit, we'll work with you to find one that is. The guarantee applies to mattresses priced at $799 or above. To qualify, a mattress protector and a protection plan must be purchased at the same time as the mattress. The protector is required because it keeps the mattress in resalable condition, which is what makes the guarantee financially sustainable for us to offer. If you have questions about the process, ask any of our team members at the time of purchase — we'd rather explain it clearly upfront than have you find out the terms later.
What financing options do you offer on mattresses?
We offer 0% financing on qualifying purchases, with terms that fit a range of budgets. A mattress is one of those purchases where paying it off over 12 or 18 months often means the difference between the right mattress and the one that was just affordable that day. You can get pre-approved in about five minutes — we'll walk through the options in-store without pressure. See how financing works.
Everything you need for a great night's sleep
Finding the right mattress is step one — but the full picture includes the base it sits on and the layers that go between you and it. Start with the mattress itself, then build the rest of the sleep setup around it. Explore adjustable bases if you've never tried one (you should), and protect your investment with a mattress protector — which also keeps your 90-night comfort guarantee intact. If you want a little more cushion without changing your mattress, mattress pads and toppers add a meaningful comfort layer at a fraction of the cost. Complete the bedroom with pillows matched to your sleep position and bedding that actually breathes. Questions about how to pay for it? Here's how financing works. Ready to try everything in person?
