A toddler bed is a small bed sized for the crib-to-bed transition -- typically using a standard crib mattress (28 x 52 inches) and sitting low to the ground with side rails to prevent falls. Most children transition around 18 months to 3 years, when they are climbing out of the crib or when a sibling needs the crib. Toddler beds are a transitional piece; many families skip them and go directly to a twin bed with a bed rail, which lasts longer. Convertible cribs that convert to a toddler bed and then to a full-size bed provide the most value over time. We carry toddler beds in several styles.
