A Scandinavian Table for Everyday Meals and Full-House Holidays

The Portland set is a good fit for families who want a calm, uncluttered dining room without giving up seating. The 78-inch rectangular table has an oak veneer top with softly rounded corners, and the side chairs pair a wood frame with foam cushioning and textured grey fabric. Pick a warm natural finish (listed as Light Brown in the options) or a deep black finish, then choose the set size that matches your household. In natural, there is also a version with two white upholstered arm chairs for the ends of the table.

Materials and Construction

Both rectangular tables are finished with oak veneer and have rounded tabletop edges. The natural table is built on a solid and engineered wood frame with a skid-style base, and the black table sits on an open pedestal base. Each rectangular table is rated for 210 lbs. The round table top in the round 5 piece option is also oak veneer.

The side chairs have solid and engineered wood frames, foam-cushioned seats and backs and 100% polyester upholstery in grey. The natural side chairs use a loop yarn fabric, have a wire-brushed wood finish and include stretchers between the legs to reduce racking. The natural arm chairs are covered in white 100% polyester fabric over foam cushioning, on a solid and engineered wood frame with a wire-brushed natural finish. Side chairs and arm chairs are each rated for 300 lbs. All pieces are made in Vietnam. Due to lighting, the finish color may look slightly different from the photos.

Assembly

Assembly is required for every piece. Each table ships in one carton, and the side chairs and arm chairs ship two per carton. That means the 5 piece rectangular sets arrive in three cartons, while the 7 piece sets and the round 5 piece option arrive in four cartons (the round table top and base come in separate cartons).

Care

Each Portland piece carries a 1 Year Limited Manufacturer Warranty. For the table, wipe spills promptly with a soft cloth, use placemats or coasters under hot or wet items, and keep the finish away from harsh cleaners.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 5 piece and 7 piece Portland sets?

Both use the same 78" W x 40" D x 30" H rectangular table. The 5 piece set comes with four side chairs, and the 7 piece set comes with six side chairs. In the natural finish, there is also a 7 piece option with four side chairs and two white upholstered arm chairs.

What colors does the Portland dining set come in?

The table and chair frames come in a natural finish (shown as Light Brown in the options) or black. The side chairs in both finishes are upholstered in grey fabric, and the arm chairs offered with the natural set are upholstered in white fabric.

Does the Portland dining set need to be assembled?

Yes, every piece requires assembly. The table ships in one carton and the chairs ship two per carton, so a 5 piece rectangular set arrives in three cartons and a 7 piece set arrives in four.
