Curio Cabinets
A curio cabinet is built to display collectibles and decorative objects behind glass, with interior lighting that makes the difference between a piece that shows well and one that does not. Read our guide to display cabinets and china cabinets -- interior lighting, mirrored backs, and shelf spacing for different types of collections.
A curio cabinet is a glass-front display cabinet designed specifically to show off collections, figurines, china, memorabilia, and decorative objects. The glass sides and front make the contents fully visible, and most include interior lighting to highlight the display. We carry floor-standing curio cabinets in corner and flat-wall configurations, in widths from 16 to 30 inches and heights from 60 to 78 inches.
Choosing a Curio Cabinet
- Corner vs wall: Corner curios tuck into unused corner space and often have larger interior dimensions than you'd expect from the floor footprint. Wall curios place flat against a wall and are easier to style symmetrically with other furniture
- Interior lighting: Built-in lighting (typically LED strips along the top or sides) makes the display visible from across the room and adds warmth to the objects on display. Preferred for any collection you want to highlight
- Lock: Many curio cabinets include a keyed lock -- useful for displaying valuable collectibles or fragile pieces in homes with children
- Shelf spacing: Check adjustable shelf positions against your tallest items before purchasing. Most shelves adjust in 1-inch increments
