Storage Benches
A storage bench serves two functions: seating and hidden storage inside a lift-top seat or drawer base. They are most commonly used at the foot of a bed (for extra blankets and pillows), in entryways (for shoes and accessories), and in mudrooms. Upholstered models are more comfortable for seating; wood models with a padded seat are more durable for entryway and utility use. Size matters in context: at the foot of a queen or king bed, a bench that is 50 to 60 inches wide looks proportional; for entryway use, a narrower bench of 36 to 48 inches is usually more practical.
