Sleep & Bedding
Quality Home Furniture carries mattresses, adjustable bases, pillows, and bedding accessories at our Mesquite, TX showroom. Come in and actually lie down on what you're considering — buying a mattress without trying it is a mistake most people make exactly once.
Why You Can't Buy a Mattress Right From a Website
Firmness is the most personal variable in furniture. A "medium" mattress feels completely different to a 130-lb person and a 230-lb person. What one couple calls comfortable, another couple calls too firm or too soft. The only test that matters is lying down on it — on your back and on your side — for at least five minutes. Our Mesquite showroom has floor models you can spend real time on before you decide.
What to Know Before You Come In
- Coil count vs. coil gauge: Higher coil count doesn't always mean better. Coil gauge (wire thickness) matters more for support and durability under heavier use. Thicker wire (lower gauge number) lasts longer.
- Memory foam and heat: Traditional memory foam retains body heat. If you sleep hot, look at hybrid mattresses (foam + coil) or innerspring options — they sleep cooler.
- Pillow top vs. euro top: A pillow top is sewn on top of the mattress and can compress and shift over time. A euro top is inset flush with the mattress edge — holds its shape better with regular use.
- Foundation matters: A worn-out box spring or foundation undermines a new mattress. Ask about our foundation options when purchasing — your mattress warranty may require a compatible base.
Mattress Brands at Quality Home
Quality Sleep™ by Quality Home: Our house brand — innerspring, hybrid, and memory foam options built to our specs. The Emery Hand-Tufted is our most premium offering. Come try the range.
Bedgear: Performance sleep brand with a focus on temperature management and athletic recovery. We carry Bedgear mattresses, pillows, and mattress protectors.
We also carry a closeout section where discontinued and overstock mattresses are priced well below their original retail — ask what's currently available.
Adjustable Bases
An adjustable base lets you raise your head and feet independently — useful for snoring, acid reflux, lower back pain, and comfort while reading or watching TV in bed. We carry bases with zero-gravity presets, head and foot articulation, and massage features.
Important: Not every mattress is compatible with every adjustable base. Memory foam and hybrid mattresses generally work well; traditional innerspring coil mattresses may not flex properly. Ask before you buy — we'll confirm compatibility with whatever mattress you're considering.
Frequently Asked Questions
How firm should my mattress be? Body weight and sleep position are the two biggest factors. Side sleepers generally need softer support to cushion the shoulder and hip. Back and stomach sleepers usually do better with firmer support. Heavier sleepers compress the mattress more — a "medium" feels much softer at 200 lbs than at 140 lbs. Try several firmness levels in our showroom before deciding.
What size mattress do I need? Queen is the most common choice for couples and fits most DFW master bedrooms. A standard queen is 60" × 80". King is 76" × 80" — plan for a room at least 12 ft wide to maintain comfortable clearance on both sides. California king is 72" × 84" — longer, slightly narrower than standard king. Twin and full are standard for kids' rooms and guest rooms.
How long does mattress delivery take? In-stock mattresses typically deliver within 2–5 days. We use our own delivery crew — they set up the mattress and remove packaging.
Is financing available? Yes — including 0% interest options. No credit needed to apply. A quality mattress is worth financing over a cheap one that won't last.
